"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."
1 Corinthians 1:18
Revive. A word that stems from two Latin words: re- meaning 'again' and vivere meaning 'to live'. The literal definition: to live again. God's desire for the Christian is "that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). Yet our churches are filled with Christians simply going through the motions. There is no deep passion for God in their lives, and they are content to just go with the flow. Going to church has become something that you do because you are supposed to, and hiding our faith has become our full time job. Families are falling apart, our nation is crumbling, and the church is dead. All hope seems lost.
However, there is an answer for the family, our nation, and the church. The answer is REVIVAL. A turning from sin to God! It is time that Christians decide to stop living the dead Christian lives they have been living for years, and realize that they are alive in Christ (1 Corinthians 15:22)! We must stop giving satan victories and start living like the conquerors God has called us to be (Romans 8:37)! When the Christian gets himself thoroughly right with God, it is then that he can begin to live again the way God intended it to be.
Can God send revival to a Christian? Can God send revival to the church? Can God send revival to a nation? The answer is unequivocally and unquestionably 'YES'! But it will cost us something. It will cost us our fleshly living. It will cost us our secret sins. It will cost us our selfishness. And it will cost us our pride. But when we choose to pay the cost, it is then that God will work!
Will you humble yourself, and pray, and seek God's face, and turn from your wicked way, so that God can begin a revival in your heart? "Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?" (Psalm 85:6)
