Summer Ministry Update 2017

We Rejoice

Through the blessing of God, we have had the opportunity to be in a number of churches these past months as well as preaching for a sweetheart banquet and a men and boys campout. God has been so good to open these doors for us, and we are rejoicing in how He worked in each place!

Our Summer Schedule is Filling Up!

We are so grateful for how God has answered our prayers in giving us meetings for us to serve in! We are excited to be spending three weeks this summer at Castle Rock Baptist Camp just south of Bozeman, Montana. We are anticipating God to do great things in the hearts of young people during these weeks. Following this summer camp ministry we will be in various churches across the northwest for revival meetings as well as Sunday preaching opportunities. We cannot thank those of you enough who have prayed for God to open doors for ministry opportunities. God has been faithful to answer those prayers and we are excited for the days ahead!

Our Gospel Tent Ministry Vision

God has laid a special burden and vision on our hearts. We have been praying and seeking direction over the past year because God has given us a burden to see churches planted and revivals held all across the West and specifically the Northwest. We have been asking the Lord to show us how He would have us to go forward with this unique desire and He has answered our prayers by giving us a specific direction in our ministry. That direction is Gospel Tent Revivals.
Our plan is to partner with churches to go into towns that do not have a Gospel preaching witness, with the intention of see a Bible study began, and ultimately a church planted, and the beginning of all of this would take place in an old fashioned tent revival. This would be a multi-week venture as there would be a time of outreach leading up to the meeting, the meeting itself, and then a time of follow up when the tent meeting would come to a close. We are excited to work alongside churches to see souls saved, lives changed, and churches started in this needy part of our country!
During the times we are not holding church planting tent meetings, we would then use the tent to hold revival meetings for churches. This will be an awesome time to have a small taste of our Nation's roots through an old fashioned tent meeting. We know that God will use these times to send revival to churches as a whole and in the lives of individuals through the powerful preaching of God's Word!

Funding This Vision

We cannot wait to see how God is going to work in the days ahead as He brings this vision to fruition! There is no doubt in our hearts that where God calls He will provide a way and we are excited to see Him do just that. After the birth of our baby girl, Kynoa (coming at the end of July!), we will begin working to raise support for this ministry. As God has called us into evangelism, and we believe that to be our primary calling, we will be raising the majority of our support to purchase those items necessary to begin this ministry. We will need tools such as a large tent, audio system, generators, and not to mention a home on wheels and something to pull it with! These needs are beyond our capabilities of meeting, but we know that our God is able to do beyond what we could ever imagine, and we cannot wait to see how He is going to meet each one!
There are two ways that each person could have a part in seeing God work to provide for these great needs! First and most obviously, financially. If God would lay it upon your heart to be a part of our ministry financially and would like more information of exactly what the needs of this ministry are, feel free to get in contact with us by phone or email and we will send over a breakdown of what those needs are. Secondly and most importantly, pray for us. We know that our Heavenly Father has all the resources we would ever need. What we need more than "things" is His power and direction. Would you ask that the Lord would meet every need and that He would empower us by His Spirit to see souls saved and revival take place! We believe with all of our heart that our nation is ripe for revival, and that a great moving of God is just around the corner! Join us in prayer for God to work and turn our great Nation back to Him!

Winter Update 2017

Preaching for Christ

God has been abundantly gracious to us! What a privilege it is to be able to open the word of God and proclaim the rich truths found therein. Over the months of August through January, God opened the door for us to be in a number of churches across Montana and Idaho. God was glorified as we saw Him working in the hearts of His people in each place we were able to go. What a tremendous encouragement it was to us to be with pastors all across this region who are faithfully preaching the Word of the Lord! Truly He is working in the northwest and we are excited to see what lies in store in the days ahead!

Beartooth Baptist Youth Conference

The Lord opened the door for us to be a part of the Beartooth Baptist Youth Conference in Laurel, Montana. What a joy it was to preach to young men and young ladies with a hunger for the Word of God. There was a great deal of fun that took place at this conference, but the main focus was the preaching! With four messages in less than 18 hours, broken up by Bible quizzing, these young people were saturated with the Bible. We are excited to see how God is going to use the decisions that were made in this conference to impact the world for Christ!

Thank You for Praying

Truly, God has heard your prayers. We are thankful for the doors God has opened for us to preach the Gospel across the northwest. We are grateful for every opportunity the Lord provides for us to stand behind a sacred desk and open His Word. As we have traveled, we have seen small glimpses of revival in the heart of His people. I believe whole heartedly that we are on the cusp of a great revival! Please continue to pray that as we travel and preach, hearts will be open, Christians will be encouraged, the lost will be saved, and God will be glorified!

Off By A Degree

Recently I was installing some crown molding on top of some cabinets and as I went to attach two of the pieces together I found that one of the pieces of molding had been cut a little off, thus causing the two ends not to line up perfectly. This was a big deal as this was a corner that would be seen every time someone entered or exited the kitchen. Over the course of the next hour, I cut various pieces of crown molding trying to find the perfect angle to match the piece that had already been cut and attached to the cabinet. After a great deal of frustration and numerous walks back out to the saw, I finally found the right angle. The original piece was only one degree off, but that one degree was enough to cause a lot of problems on the job.

One degree doesn't seem like that big of a deal. When talking about temperature, often you can't really tell the difference that one degree makes. That is unless you are talking about the temperature of boiling water. At 211 degrees you have very hot water, but it's at 212 degrees that's when water begins to boil and then its uses are numerous!

In the Christian life it is easy to find yourself off by one degree. It may seem to be just one time that we miss our devotions. It may just be one sin that we are excusing. It may just be one little area of compromise. And while one little degree may not seem like that big of a deal, it can be the difference between a life that is able to be used by God and a life that finds itself in the snare of the world, the flesh, and the devil. We are commanded by God in Ephesians 5:15 to "walk circumspectly," meaning to be looking around. The devil is always looking for an opportunity to get a foothold in the life of the Christian and if we are not being a 360 degree Christian, if we lose focus by just a degree or two, a life that could have been used for God's glory could turn into a disaster.

May we pray as the Psalmist did in Psalm 139:23-24, "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if [there be any] wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." God will point out the areas in our life that may have been off just by a degree, so we can make and keep things right, and have sweet fellowship with Him!

Evangelism in Big Sky Country

Our Time At Lighthouse Baptist Church

God opened the door in August of 2015 for us to serve as the interim pastor at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Butte, Montana. What a privilege it was for us to serve alongside the people of LBC. When God first opened this door, we questioned if this was really the leading of God and if it 'fit' into our evangelism ministry. After much prayer and counsel, it was clear that this path was exactly the direction God wanted us to go. Through the months that God allowed us to serve as interim pastor, we saw multiple salvations and had the privilege of baptizing two. We cannot express the thankfulness in our hearts that God allowed us to serve in this capacity with this wonderful group of believers. On April 24th, we officially stepped away from LBC as Pastor Matthew Inboden took the helm in their first official service! We are excited for what God has in store for this wonderful church in the days ahead, and rejoice in the time God allowed us to be there.

What Is Next

Tressa and I are excited to once again begin traveling to various churches in the northwest! God has burdened my heart more than ever for this incredible mission field. There is no question in our hearts that revival is on the horizon for this special area of the country. As we hear of revival breaking out in various places across our nation, we are anticipating great things that God is going to do in our midst in the coming days! As the return of Christ undoubtedly draws nigh, Psalm 119:126 rings so clear, "It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law."

How You Can Pray For Us

Would you join in prayer for us that God would open doors to share and preach the Gospel all across this great region? Would you ask that He would use us to encourage the pastors that are faithfully preaching God's Word each and every week? Will you pray that revival will begin to spread in the hearts of God's people? We believe whole heartedly that God is ready to pour out His Spirit and send revival to our nation! God has been sharpening the direction of our ministry here in the northwest and we are excited for the days ahead to see all that He is going to do! Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and being a fellow laborer with us in the ministry of Christ!

Exciting Days: How the Months Fly By

Over the past months since our last letter, we have had the privilege to go through numerous incredible experiences. After moving back to Montana, we began planning and preparing for the arrival of our little baby. It seemed like time just crept by as we waited. In the meantime God was opening doors around us to preach in churches all around our area. It was a blessing to see God working in lives and hearts being softened to His Word.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity of waiting, our little man finally arrived. On June 4th at 11:17 pm, Jayce Michael Gilstrap entered into our world weighing 8 pounds 1.2 ounces. It was an incredible experience to hold him in our arms for the first time. After years of being told that there was no experience quite like it, we finally had the opportunity to stand in awe our selves. Truly, God is an awesome God!

A few short weeks later, I was on a plane flying to Indiana to preach a junior week at Hoosier Hills Baptist Camp. What an incredible privilege to preach at the camp that had such a great impact on my life as a youth. Once again, God was gracious and we saw numerous life changing decisions made, including at least 9 young people who trusted Christ as their personal Saviour! Truly, we could sing along with the Psalmist in Psalm 92:5, "O LORD, how great are thy works!"

As we look at the days ahead, we are excited and anticipating all that God has in store! As He continues to open doors in evangelism, we will continue to strive to be a help and encouragement to the local church body. As the day grows darker, the light of the Gospel is shining brighter. May we as Christians seek to take the next step of obedience to Christ  in each of our lives. There is no greater day than today to give everything to Him and tell others of the love of Christ!

Across The Country

Where We've Been, Where We Are, and Where We're Going?

God has been good. It truly is as simple as that. He has opened doors that we never dreamed we would be able to walk through and has provided in ways we could have never imagined. Over the past few months, God has led us in numerous directions, and we are excited to share with you all we have done!

August: Our Northeastern Experience

Traveling is a big part of evangelism and in August, we had the privilege of traveling with the Birkholz family, missionaries to Honduras. We spent the majority of our trip in the Northeastern states of Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Maine. God was incredibly good to us as we were able to meet pastors from all over and had the opportunity to preach in four different churches.

September: A Total Transition

God began working in our hearts as we traveled in the Northeast. The more churches we found ourselves in, the more burdened we became for the churches of the Northwest. When we finished our travels, God clearly directed us back to Montana and to our home church for a time.

October - December: Welcome Home

After arriving back in Montana, we found ourselves getting plugged back into our home church. God has allowed us to be a part of numerous special days and special outreaches, as well as help plan the calendar for the New Year. It has been a tremendous blessing to get back involved with our home church and strive to be an encouragement to our church family.

Looking Into the New Year

We are excited for all that 2015 has in store! We are excited to begin to make our launch out into evangelism in the Northwest. Our passion is to be a help and encouragement to the churches in a neglected area of the United States. God has left an open door that we are excited to walk through.
Along with our exciting step into traveling, we are ecstatic to announce that our family will be growing in 2015! God has blessed us with a precious baby that is expected to arrive sometime in May. We are so thankful to the Lord for this precious gift that God has given to us.

How You Can Pray For Us

Your prayers are greatly coveted as we take this next step of faith in launching out into evangelism in the Northwest. Pray that God will provide opportunities to be a help and encouragement to churches. We sincerely believe that God has been preparing this area of the country for a great revival that He is going to send. Pray that 2015 is the year that He pours out His Spirit and we see a great revival spread across our nation.

Finally, pray for our growing family. Our baby is growing daily and we ask for your prayers for the health of our baby as well as for Tressa. We also ask that you pray for Tressa and I as we prepare to be parents for the first time. We cannot wait for this wonderful addition to our family and all the adventures that this next step of our life holds. Thank you again for joining in our ministry through your prayers and support. We cannot wait to see how God works in this new year.

Great Things He Has Done

Summer Ministry

God has worked in tremendous ways this summer! We are so thankful that He allows us to be a small part of His big plan. God opened the door and allowed us to serve for the months of June and July at Hoosier Hills Baptist Camp in Dillsboro, Indiana. The Lord put together a tremendous staff that made a huge impact on many lives. I (Kyle) was able to serve as the assistant director, running all of the games and leading the music. Tressa served as a camp secretary and also ran the camp snack shop among many other duties. It was a stretching summer, but certainly worth it. We saw a little over 1000 young people attend the camp and had 101 professions of salvation! We serve a big God, that does great things.

What Now?

As camp came to a conclusion, we asked the Lord to clearly show us what His next step for us would be. We found comfort in knowing that we were in the middle of God's will but were unsure what God had next. God answered our prayers emphatically! He opened the door for us to travel for a month and a half with a missionary family that is on deputation. The Birkholz family (www.thebirkholzfamily.com) are missionaries to Honduras, and friends that I had met at camp many years before. They invited us to travel with them as they visit churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts. This is a tremendous opportunity for us to meet pastors and make contacts for potential meetings!

New Website

We are excited to announce the official launch of our ministry website: www.kylegilstrap.com. Make sure you check it out as we strive to update it regularly with new photos and what God is doing for us!

Our Needs

Please continue to pray for us as we are launching out on this new and exciting adventure! Pray for travel mercies as we will be driving a great deal in the next month and a half. Also, pray that God will supply meetings in His time. We are patiently waiting for God to open those doors as He sees fit. Most importantly, pray that God will lead us to those who are in need of Salvation!

Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we travel and preach and pray for revival!
